
MEET DR VICTOR VAZQUEZ
Proven Leadership for Miami Springs

Dr. Victor Vazquez, a Miami Springs resident for 12 years, has risen from humble origins to achieve the American Dream. A U.S. Air Force veteran who lost a leg while on active duty and had to learn to walk again, he bootstrapped his way from a GED to a PhD in U.S. History at Temple University. In 2005, he joined the Faculty of Miami-Dade College, where he served as a Professor, Department Chair, and Interim Dean and published numerous books and articles on immigrant settlements.
He has deep roots in the Miami Springs community where he served as a City Councilman. Dr. Vazquez has a long history of serving his community with organizations such as Aspira Inc of Florida, Puerto Rican Leadership Council of South Florida, the American Legion Post 32, Disabled American Veterans Organization, as well as supporting the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts of Miami Springs.
